2010 Order of British Columbia Awarded to friends of BCIC!

Posted Wednesday, 11 August 2010 09:36 by Dean Rockwell

BCIC would like to congratulate Patti Leigh, Founder and past Executive Director of Science Fair Foundation of BC, who last week was one of 14 distinguished British Columbians selected to receive the 2010 Order of British Columbia. The Order of British Columbia recognizes the excellence and achievements of our citizens. It is the highest honour we can bestow on individuals in our province.

Patti is a close and long time friend of BCIC. Without her and the 27 years she has dedicated to the education of children, the science fair program in BC would not be what it is today. We shared a common purpose, hard work and good times with Patti over the years up until her retirement just last month.

Among those honoured this year include Marco A. Marra of Vancouver, a genome scientist and Dr. Julio S.G. Montaner of Vancouver an HIV clinician and researcher - also friends of BCIC and past winners of BCIC Awards!

We wish Patti, Marco and Julio all the best and the warmest of congratulations for this incredible honour. Read more here.
