![]() Media Release | May 22, 2012 Following a strategic review by the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation, BCIC is now seeking a proven leader to deliver on its mandate of accelerating the commercialization of technology through supporting startups and developing entrepreneurs. BCIC has selected Corporate Recruiters of Vancouver to undertake the search process. BCIC would also like to thank Mark Payne who has decided to leave the Council after successfully completing his engagement as Acting CEO. Mark joined BCIC as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence in 2010 and was initially focused on establishing a framework for province-wide incubation and accelerator facilities and programs. In June 2011 Mr. Payne was approached by the Board to take the role of Acting CEO and lead the organization though the strategic review by the Ministry. Under his leadership, BCIC has successfully completed the review, made great strides in refining its focus and put in place a strategic plan to take the organization forward. "Through Mark's effort, BCIC has focused on its mission, reorganized in alignment with the review recommendations and has broadened the number of partnerships and collaborations throughout the Province.
