On March 6th, six talented business leaders, whose career paths and individual achievements continue to inspire people throughout the province, were celebrated at the 13th Annual Influential Women in Business awards in Vancouver. Included among the women honoured was Jill Leversage, BCIC's Acting Board Chair! Having spent most of her career in investment banking, Jill Leversage is no stranger to late nights, long hours and endless caffeine consumption. Upon graduating from the University of Calgary with a bachelor of commerce in accounting and management information systems, Jill returned to her native BC, where she began her career in finance in 1984. Since then, Jill has advised many of Vancouver's most prominent companies across the fields of forestry, mining, government and technology. She has held investment banking positions at financial institutions such as BMO Financial, RBC Capital Markets and most recently was the Managing Director at TD Securities. Jill credits much of her career success to her strong sense of honesty and fairness, and the invaluable support she receives daily from her family, friends and mentors. She is a member of the Minerva Foundation Patron's Circle and serves on the board for the VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation in addition to that of BCIC, where she has sat since December 2007. Since then, Jill has played an instrumental role in guiding the strategic direction of the Council as a whole. Her recent appointment to Acting Chair is yet another reflection of Jill's leadership and commitment to BC and growing BC's economy. Congratulations Jill Leversage on your tremendous accomplishments!
