Get ready BC, Startup Canada is coming to town September 10-21

Seven provinces down, three to go. The momentum is building as Startup Canada, a grassroots, entrepreneur-led initiative created to support and inspire entrepreneurship, sweeps across the country on its National Tour that includes 40 stops through 10 provinces over seven months.

All eyes will be on BC as the Startup Canada entourage rolls into town this September to celebrate entrepreneurship and the incredible people and groups that make our province a great place to start and grow companies. The BC tour of Startup Canada is a collaborative initiative linking a diverse group of individuals and organizations with the common goal of supporting and celebrating all entrepreneurs - a group vital to driving the economy in BC and beyond.

A total of 23 events focused on a variety of issues related to social, technology, immigrant and student entrepreneurship - to name only a few - are being planned as part of the official BC tour that will bring the Startup Canada team to the Okanagan (September 10-12), Victoria (September 13-14), Prince George (September 16-17) and Vancouver (September 18-21). An exciting Grand Finale event being organized by Small Business BC will conclude the BC and National Tour September on 21st at the Telus World of Science

"Spirited entrepreneurship is a cornerstone of BC's culture and a key driver in the province's economy," said Dean Prelazzi, Chair of BC's Steering Committee for Startup Canada and Managing Director of the BCIC Acceleration Network. "We welcome the opportunity to give BC entrepreneurs a strong voice in this national dialogue. It's a valuable opportunity for communities across the province to compare notes, share ideas and work together to advance BC's and Canada's entrepreneurial performance in a global context."

Specifics on each event being planned, including seven in Vancouver - built on the themes of student, social, First Nations, technology, women and immigrant entreprneeurship - will be announced soon! Stay tuned for more information and how you can attend or become involved in this exciting national movement.
