Twothirds Water named to BCIC-New Ventures Competition’s Top 25

BCIC-New Ventures' 25 round-three competitors are working on their Round 3 business overviews for submission on August 8th.

Competition judges will announce the 10 finalists on September 4th but in the meantime let's have a closer look at the Top 25. Over the next couple of weeks, BCIC will spotlight each of the 25 finalists.

Twothirds Water is a group of engineers and entrepreneurs who develop and market innovative water treatment products in developing countries.

Western businesses have traditionally shied away from developing-world markets because of challenges with distribution and pricing. However, Twothirds Water is creating a line of remarkable price-appropriate water filters, and is cracking the distribution problem by partnering with entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Twothirds Water intends to demonstrate that this can not only be a sustainable delivery mechanism for much-needed health products, but that there is very attractive profit potential as well.

This is the 2nd year the startup has entered the BCIC-New Ventures competition. In April 2012, TwoThirds Water took home the $25,000 2nd place prize of Vancity`s first Good Money Impact Venture Challenge.

The 10 finalists of the 2012 BCIC-New Ventures Competition will be announced September 4, 2012. Stay tuned!
