Announcement | March 25, 2010
The 2010 SDTC Cleantech Growth & Go-to-Market Report aims to bring product commercialization in clean technology companies to the same standard as the technical excellence for which Canadian companies are known worldwide. By comparing the commercialization profile of Canadian clean technology companies to the product commercialization investment benchmarks - as well as jurisdiction best practices from high-growth, global and Canadian clean technology companies - the 2010 Report will enable governments and regulators to make decisions such as: environmental regulation as a driver of domestic demand; extension of SR&ED tax credits to commercialization expenses; extension of flow-through share status beyond exploration companies to technology companies; changes to capital gains taxation to make Canada a hyper competitive capital market; and pricing carbon and investing in clean technology to achieve a low carbon economy.
BCIC is played a key role in attracting 100 local clean technology companies to participate in the survey and was proud to be a sponsor of this initiative. BCIC's objective in the cleantech industry is to develop entrepreneurs and companies to commercialize technologies that build the cleantech economy in BC while at the same time, developing solutions that will benefit the world.
