On June 16, 2009, New Ventures BC (NVBC) announced the top 30 companies moving forward to round three. These companies will receive team mentors, specialized workshops, and two chances to present in front of a mentor panel of experts.
BCIC is the title sponsor of the 2009 New Ventures BC Competition providing a total of $240,000 of BCIC-NVBC Competition Awards. The Awards provide funding to NVBC winners, to advance their technology towards commercialization. BCIC's Dean Prelazzi, Director of ICT, Wireless and New Media sits on two mentor panels with NVBC and is also a company mentor to one of the top 30 companies.
