BCIC has partnered with the New Ventures BC Society to deliver the society's BCIC-New Ventures Competition, an annual technology business-idea competition providing BC entrepreneurs and inventors with the skills, networking, mentoring and prize monies they need to successfully commercialize their business ideas.
In 2010, the BCIC-New Ventures Competition celebrated its 10th anniversary and launched a regional competition (BCIC-New Ventures Competition: Regional), open to technology entrepreneurs based outside of metro Vancouver.
Both competitions are like bootcamps for business startups, addressing the special interests of BC's early-stage technology companies and supporting BC's emerging technology industry.
BCIC-New Ventures Competition - A six-month, four-round competition open to any BC resident, team or business with an innovative technology product or service that has not yet secured significant financing from external investors (i.e. investors other than friends, family and company founders).
BCIC-New Ventures Competition: Regional - A five-month, three-round Regional Competition open to any BC resident, team or business located outside metro Vancouver with an innovative technology product or service that has not yet secured material financing.
