Paul and Helen Trussell Science & Technology Scholarship

The Trussell Endowment Fund was established in 1990 with an endowment of $100,000 from Dr. and Mrs. Trussell, matched funding from the Province of British Columbia and a contribution from the Vancouver Foundation. The scholarship is intended to support a promising student from the Kootenay-Boundary region in natural or applied sciences leading to a successful career in applied and industrial research. The primary selection criteria will be academic achievement complemented by creativity, drive, and research. TESTIMONIALS
Andrew Richards, currently completing a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering

"The most important benefit of the award is the encouragement it offers to students from the Kootenay-Boundary region to pursue their academic goals. Receiving the award was a very welcome recognition of both my dedication to achieving academic excellence and of my intentions to pursue a research career".

Gwen Bailey, currently completing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry

"Thanks to the Trussell Scholarship, I have been able to focus on my undergraduate studies in chemistry. During my studies, I have been exposed to ideas and concepts of which I would have never dreamed. I have gained many invaluable technical and social skills which have both broadened my understanding and ability as a young scientist and made me better prepared and informed about graduate research in chemistry. The Trussell Scholarship has served both as support and an inspiration to my learning and to the building of a successful career as a chemist in the future".
