BCIC Young Innovator Scholarship

BCIC is pleased to offer the Young Innovator Scholarship Program to support Grade 11 and 12 students to pursue a post-secondary education and future careers in science, technology and business entrepreneurship in British Columbia. The intent of the Young Innovator Scholarship program is to encourage students to continue their education in the province and pursue careers in British Columbia's advanced technology industries.

Award Method

Registered schools will host a Science Fair OR Idea MashUp competition, and select the winner(s) using the provided Program Guidelines.

Annual Deadline

Deadline to register (see Form 1.0 - School Registration below) your secondary school to participate in the program is Friday February 24, 2012.

Award Value

The scholarships are valued at $2000 per awarded entry. Through partnerships with the Northern Development Initiative Trust and Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust, scholarships are valued at $4000 in select regions.

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive the scholarship, a winning student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be accepted in to a post-secondary program at a BC institution in the academic year following graduation from Grade 12.
  • Be enrolled in one of the following programs: Science, Mathematics, Technology, Digital Arts+Media+Design, Engineering, Business Entrepreneurship

Please refer to the attached Program Guidelines and forms for further details. If you have participated in the Young Innovator Scholarship previously, please also read the attached documentation in its entirety as there have been modifications to the program.
