Competitions
Competitions provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to compete for a monetary prize. In BC, several tech organizations, business incubators, accelerators and universities hold business competitions for startup entrepreneurs.
Why is it important?
Competitions are not only a source of great equity funding, but many provide entrepreneurs with invaluable learning and networking opportunities and access to important resources, such as mentors and experts for feedback on their business plan.
The payoff for business competition winners can be large and establish the foundation for the startup's operation.
