Government

The provincial and federal government may have grants and funding programs that provide loans.

Why is it important?

Grant eligibility varies. Although grants are often geared towards specific industries or groups of people such as youth, women or aboriginal owners, it is often worth determining whether your business qualifies for one of the many sources of government capital available to new ventures and startup companies in BC and Canada.

A government loan may be a good alternative to a commercial loan depending on factors including interest rate and payback periods.
