Advisory Board

An advisory board is an informal group of individuals from outside the company that provide guidance and advice to the board of directors and management of a corporation. They have no authority to vote on corporate matters

Why is it important?

Individuals on the advisory board often have significant experience and detailed knowledge regarding different facets of the business. In certain cases they may know more than the management team on specific issues. Their expertise may also lend well to the successful growth of the company by sharing a number of key contacts and relationships as well as attracting potential investors.
